Rava Uthappam
Rava Uttappam
Ingredients neeed for Rava Uthappam
1 cup rava/sooji
1/4 cup slightly sour curd
1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 large tomato, finely chopped
2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander Leaves
Oil as required
Salt to taste
How to prepare Rava Uthappam?
Take rava, sour curd and salt in a large bowl.
Mix well using spoon by gradually adding water, until batter has thick yet watery consistency like a thick Idli / Dosa batter. Keep aside for 20-minutes.
Add chopped onion, capsicum, tomato, green chillies, ginger, coriander leaves and 1 teaspoon oil to the rava batter.
Mix well and again check for consistency of the batter, if needed add a little more but the batter should be somewhat thick.
Heat non-stick tawa or griddle over medium flame.
When tawa starts getting hot, simmer and pour a ladle of batter and spread it into the circle with the help of the backside of the ladle. It should be around 1/4-inch thickness and approximately 5-6 inches in diameter.
Drizzle a teaspoon oil around the Uthappam.
Cook until bottom side turns light brown and flip it gently. Drizzle some more oil if you like it crispy.
Now flip again and cook for 30-seconds.
Transfer it to a plate. Prepare sooji uthapams from remaining batter by following the same steps
Serve hot with tomato chutney, Sambar etc.
